Hot Frosty is a movie set around Christmas starring Lacey Chabert, as Kathy, and Dustin Milligan, as Jack, also known as Hot Frosty.
Hot Frosty was released on November 13th on Netflix. I was flicking through trying to find a good ol’ Netflix or Hallmark Christmas movie when I stumbled upon Hot Frosty. A family friend I love had suggested it a few days before, and so I decided to watch it. As I watched it, I began to quite enjoy it. The movie was very entertaining, and also has a couple of actors I liked from other shows such as Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
To summarize this movie, Jack is a snowman who comes to life and falls for Kathy while trying to avoid the law, due to his breaking into a store for clothes and being spotted by an elderly couple.
The movie starts with Kathy, a woman whose husband died two years ago but is somewhat happy and busy due to her job at the local diner, going to her friend’s store. At the store Kathy is given a scarf by her friend, who is trying to get Kathy to date again. As Kathy is walking back home with the scarf, there is a snowman-building competition, and one quite muscular snowman catches Kathy’s eye. Kathy notices that this particular snowman is the only one without a scarf, so she wraps hers around the buff snowman. Kathy then goes to take a picture of the snowman before noticing a twinkle in its eyes. Soon after that, the snowman, named Jack, comes to life and takes some clothes from the store but is spotted by an elderly couple.
Hot Frosty follows Jack and Kathy’s relationship blossoming while still trying to keep Jack’s existence on the down low. This movie has it all: Romance, comedy, and holiday spirit. It is a great movie, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves romance and the holiday season. For me, this movie would definitely be rated a ten out of ten. No doubt about it, this snowman will melt your heart.
