The Student Athlete Committee, formally known as the Student Booster Club, is a new, student-run version of the Hastings Booster Club. Their focus is to raise money for student athletics. Some things that they have obtained are weight room upgrades, guardian caps for the football team, and a volleyball machine.
They also supported Zoey Wiese, a swimmer at Hastings High School, by helping her get a bathing suit for Sectionals. They have raised funds in a variety of ways; some include concession stands, carwashes, bake sales, a farmer’s market booth, and selling discount cards for various restaurants and businesses in Hastings.
Their goal is to raise $25,000 for student athletics, and currently, they have raised about $13,000.
The club is run by sophomore Bobby Jennemann, and it has four officers: Jonah Goldberg, Avery Euler, Ruby Jacobsen, and Anthony Holder; they began collecting funds at the start of the summer.
Athletes who seek to improve Hastings athletics are welcome to speak to any of the club officers about joining the club.
