In the midst of summer extracurriculars, vacations, and relaxation, all HHS cinema enthusiasts are awaiting summer 2025 movie releases. Burning questions arise: what genres will dominate? What actors will get their moment in the spotlight? Which movies will live up to their expectations? Read the list below to know what movies audiences are most excited for this summer.
Elio

This long-awaited Pixar original tells the story of 11-year-old Elio, a boy who wants above all else to get abducted by aliens. When his wish comes true, Elio makes an entourage of alien friends and is forced to consider the line between his dreams and his reality as the safety of humanity is brought into question.
28 Years Later

This horror movie is the third part to the 28 post-apocalyptic series and went viral on social media for its terrifying trailer full of engrossing visuals and a visceral soundtrack. 28 Years Later details the lives of zombie apocalypse survivors nearly thirty years after the initial outbreak, as a new mutation threatens to both empower the already-infected, and to affect the living survivors as well.
M3GAN 2.0

Yet another sequel, M3GAN 2.0 sees a sudden genre switch from a horror movie, like the original, into a thriller-action. M3GAN, a robot gone rogue in the first film, is brought back when another robot, Amelia, poses an even greater threat. M3GAN teams up with her past enemies, relatives Gemma and Katie, to take down Amelia, taking the viewers on a wild ride.
Jurassic World Rebirth
July 2
Another part of a series, this Jurassic Park movie centers on a group of scientists who return to the original Jurassic World site in search of beneficial surviving DNA. This installation of the franchise sticks to all the typical Jurassic Park rules: being an action-sci-fi with roaring dinosaurs and gradually improving CGI.
Superman

There’s not much known about this movie since trailers and teasers have been sparse, but being a new Superman iteration, assumptions can be made. Superman balances his human lifestyle as Clark Kent and his Kryptonian heritage in this action-packed superhero flick.
Fantastic Four: First Steps

An exciting Marvel action film, Fantastic Four: First Steps tells the story of Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch and The Thing, a family of superheroes living in a retro, 1960s style future. As they face antagonists Galactus, a ravenous, cosmic deity, and his henchman, Silver Surfer, the Fantastic Four’s family bond is put to the test.
Freakier Friday
