Following the fall season, here is the sports wrap-up; following are the standout moments and results from Fall 2025 Section 1 Sectionals: senior swimmer Zoey Wiese qualified for States after a strong sectional meet, earning multiple personal bests in the 200, 500, 400 free relay, and the 200 free relay. Violet Campanelli, Velvet Marsh, and Barbara Chang impressed as well, scoring 18th, 14th and 28th in the preliminary round. A strong finish for the varsity swimming team!
Cross country athletes set impressive personal records this season, capturing 4th place in Class C for both the boys and girls teams. Both teams also sent athletes to the Section 1 Class C Championships at Bowdoin Park on November 8. The athletes sent were Jonah Goldberg, Race Simon, Colin Glass, Maxwell Silva Steeves, Harry Renaud, Anothony Holder, Phineas Buckley, Louise Durietz-Bourdain, and Maya Ganeshananthan.
The football team entered sectionals No.5, facing Putnam Valley (No.4) on October 31st. The Yellowjackets ultimately lost 34–7, closing out a season full of determination and growth since their first game.
The girls volleyball team (No.10) wrapped up their postseason with a competitive effort against Briarcliff (No.7), losing 3–1 in the first round. The boys volleyball team, merged with Greenburgh and Clarke Academy, made impressive strides all year, including winning their first game.
Hastings field hockey (No.6) entered the Class C tournament, battling Pawling (No.3) in the quarterfinals. Despite a determined effort, the Yellowjackets lost 5–0, concluding their season with a record of five wins and seven losses.
In one of the most anticipated games of the postseason, varsity girls soccer (No.4) pushed Rye Neck (No.5) to the limit before losing 4–3 in a back-and-forth quarterfinal at the Burke estate. They ultimately ended their season with a record of 5–7–2.
The boys varsity soccer team (No.9) faced Briarcliff (No.8) in their first round matchup. After regulation and overtime ended in a 0–0 draw, the game went to penalty kicks, where Hastings narrowly lost 5–3; a tough ending to a strong tournament showing.
The girls varsity tennis team continued its development this season. Although they did not advance to the individual, doubles, or team sectional tournaments, the group showed incredible promise finishing 3rd in their league.
